Study on scavenging DPPH free radical activity and inhibitory effect on tyrosinase of Aquilaria sinensis peel extract
Objective:To evaluate the scavenging DPPH free radical activity and inhibitory effect on tyrosinase of Aquilaria sinen-sis peel extract, thus providing a theoretical basis for the application and development of A.sinensis peel.Method:Water, ethanol, buthanol, ethyl acetate and petroleum ether were used as solvents, and reflux, ultrasonic wave, soaking were employed to extract peel of A.sinensis.The radical scavenging activity and inhibitory effect on tyrosinase were determined by the DPPH assay and L-DOPA assay, respectively. Results:Water and ethanol extracts exhibited significant scavenging capabilities on DPPH free radical with the IC50 values of 26.9,19.9μg/ml,respectively.The buthanol and ethyl acetate extracts of A.sinensis peel displayed good tyrosinase inhibitory activities with the IC50 values of 93.2,122.9μg/ml,respectively.Conclusion:The extract of A.sinensis peel has the po-tential to explore effective natural free radical scavengers and tyrosinase inhibitors.
