Spectacle Moxibustion with Walnut Shells in Ophthalmic Treatment
Walnut shell moxibustion is a kind of interstitial moxibustion originated in ancient times,and its application extends from the main treatment of surgical sores to internal medicine,gynecology and pediatrics.It was gradually developed into modem in-terval walnut shell glasses moxibustion by various medical practitioners,with acupuncture,ear acupuncture,tui na,massage,fumi-gation and other applications in the treatment of eye diseases,and has achieved good results in conjunctivitis,dry eye,myopia,visu-al fatigue,cataract,etc.This paper collates and summarizes the historical origin of walnut shell moxibustion and the research pro-gress in ophthalmic treatment,with a view to providing a theoretical basis for its clinical application and further promoting its applica-tion.
