Application effects of noninvasive mechanical ventilation in emergency treatment of patients with respiratory failure caused by early acute severe organophosphorus pesticide poisoning
Objective:To observe application effects of noninvasive mechanical ventilation in emergency treatment of patients with respiratory failure caused by early acute severe organophosphorus pesticide poisoning. Methods:The clinical data of 80 patients with respiratory failure caused by early severe organophosphorus pesticide poisoning admitted to this hospital from March 2018 to February 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into control group and observation group,40 cases in each group. Both groups were given the symptomatic treatment of organophosphorus pesticide poisoning. On this basis, the control group was given nasal catheter/mask oxygen inhalation, while the observation group was given mask noninvasive mechanical ventilation. The clinical efficacy, the consciousness recovery time, the hospitalization time, the blood gas indexes[oxygenation index, arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2),arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)]levels before the treatment and 1 week after the treatment, the quality of life[general quality of life inventory-74(GQOLI-74)]score,and incidence of complications within 1 week of treatment were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of in the observation group was 95.00%(38/40),which was higher than 77.50%(31/40)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The consciousness recovery time and the hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the oxygenation index and the PaO2 of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, the PaCO2 was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the GQOLI-74 scores of social function, psychological function, physical function and material life in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,the incidence of complications in the observation group was 5.00%(2/40),which was lower than 22.50%(9/40)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The noninvasive mechanical ventilation for the patients with early acute severe organophosphorus pesticide poisoning can improve the total effective rate of treatment and the quality of life scores, shorten the consciousness recovery time and the hospitalization time, improve the levels of blood gas indexes, and reduce the incidence of complications. Moreover,it is superior to nasal catheter/mask oxygen inhalation.
