Effects of hysteroscopic electrotomy in treatment of patients with abnormal uterine bleeding caused by endometrial polyps
Objective:To investigate effects of hysteroscopic electrotomy in treatment of patients with abnormal uterine bleeding caused by endometrial polyps. Methods:The clinical data of 92 patients with abnormal uterine bleeding caused by endometrial polyps admitted to this hospital from January to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. These patients were divided into control group and study group according to different treatment methods,46 cases in each group. The control group was treated with hysteroscopic curettage, while the observation group was treated with hysteroscopic electrotomy. The clinical effects, the intraoperative blood loss, the operation time, the menstrual recovery time, the hospitalization time, the incidence of complications, and the recurrence rate were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.65%(44/46),which was higher than 76.09%(35/46)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The hospitalization time, the operation time and the menstrual recovery time of the observation group were shorter than those of the control group, the intraoperative blood loss was less than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was 4.35%(2/46),which was lower than 17.39%(8/46)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The recurrence rate of the observation group was 2.17%(1/46),and the recurrence rate of the control group was 8.70%(4/46),however,there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Hysteroscopic electrotomy in the treatment of the patients with abnormal uterine bleeding caused by endometrial polyps can effectively improve the clinical effects, shorten the operation time, the hospitalization time and the menstrual recovery time, reduce the intraoperative blood loss, and reduce the incidence of complications. Moreover,it is superior to hysteroscopic curettage.
