Effects of Naoxintong capsules combined with Donepezil in treatment of elderly patients with vascular dementia
Objective:To observe effects of Naoxintong capsules combined with Donepezil in treatment of elderly patients with vascular dementia.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 100 elderly patients with vascular dementia admitted to this hospital from January to December 2021.They were divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table method,50 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Donepezil,while the observation group was treated with Naoxintong capsules on the basis of the control group.The cognitive function[Montreal cognitive assessment scale(MoCA)]score,the hemorheology indexes(fibrinogen,plasma viscosity,whole blood viscosity,hematocrit)levels,the neurological function indexes[homocysteine(Hcy),neuron-specific enolase(NSE),S100 calcium binding protein β(S100β)]levels,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment.Results:After the treatment,the MoCA scores of the two groups were higher than those before the treatment,that in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of fibrinogen,plasma viscosity,whole blood viscosity and hematocrit in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of Hcy,NSE and S100β in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Naoxintong capsules combined with Donepezil in the treatment of the elderly patients with vascular dementia can improve their cognitive function,improve the levels of hemorheology indexes and improve the neurological function.Moreover,it is superior to single Donepezil treatment.
