Effects of Compound Xueshuantong capsules combined with insulin in treatment of patients with diabetic retinopathy
Objective:To observe effects of Compound Xueshuantong capsules combined with insulin in treatment of patients with diabetic retinopathy(DR).Methods:82 patients with DR admitted to this hospital from February 2021 to June 2023 were selected for the prospective study.According to the random number table method,they were divided into control group and study group,41 cases in each group.Both groups were treated with Calcium dobesilate capsules + Sodium hyaluronate eye drops.On this basis,the control group was treated with insulin,while the study group was treated with Compound Xueshuantong capsules on the basis of that of the control group.The clinical efficacy,the fundus oculi indexes(hemangioma volume,bleeding spot area,macular thickness,visual field gray value)levels,the hemorheology indexes[whole blood low shear viscosity,fibrinogen(FIB),whole blood high shear viscosity,plasma viscosity]levels,and the serum inflammatory factors[interleukin-6(IL-6),insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1),vascular cell adhesion molecule-1(VCAM-1),high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)]levels were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment.Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 97.56%(40/41),which was higher than 80.49%(33/41)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the hemangioma volume,the visual field gray value,the macular thickness and the hemorrhage area of the study group were smaller than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of plasma viscosity,FIB,whole blood low shear viscosity and whole blood high shear viscosity in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,the levels of hs-CRP,IL-6,VCAM-1 and IGF-1 in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Compound Xueshuantong capsules combined with insulin in the treatment of the DR patients can improve the total effective rate of treatment and reduce the levels of fundus oculi indexes,hemorheology indexes and serum inflammatory factors.Moreover,it is superior to single insulin therapy.
