Effects of green tortoise probe needling combined with Shentong Zhuyu decoction in treatment of patients with lumbar disc herniation of qi stagnation and blood stasis type
Objective:To observe effects of green tortoise probe needling combined with Shentong Zhuyu decoction in treatment of patients with lumbar disc herniation of qi stagnation and blood stasis type.Methods:The clinical data of 100 patients with lumbar disc herniation of qi stagnation and blood stasis type admitted to this hospital from January 2020 to December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into study group and control group,50 cases in each.The control group was treated with Shentong Zhuyu decoction,while the study group was treated with green tortoise probe needling on the basis of that of the control group.Both groups were treated for 28 days.The clinical efficacy,the TCM syndrome scores,the lumbar function[Japanese orthopaedic association(JOA),Oswestry disability index(ODI)]scores before and after the treatment,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of treatment in the study group was 88.00%(44/50),which was higher than 70.00%(35/50)in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the scores of TCM syndromes such as low back pain,being mild in daytime and sever in night,and difficulty in turning side in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the JOA score of the study group was higher than that of the control group,the ODI score was lower than that of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusions:Green tortoise probe needling combined with Shentong Zhuyu decoction in the treatment of the patients with lumbar disc herniation of qi stagnation and blood stasis type can improve the total effective rate of treatment,improve the lumbar function scores,and reduce the TCM syndrome scores.Moreover,it is superior to single Shentong Zhuyu decoction treatment.
