Application effects of explain-simulate-practice-communication-support nursing in breast cancer patients with PICC catheterization chemotherapy
Objective:To observe application effects of explain-simulate-practice-communication-support(ESPCS)nursing in patients with peripherally inserted central venous catheter(PICC)chemotherapy for breast cancer. Methods:The clinical data of 86 patients with breast cancer undergoing PICC catheterization chemotherapy admitted to this hospital from January 2019 to October 2021 were retrospectively analyzed.According to the order of admission,43 patients admitted from January 2019 to May 2020 were set as control group and were given routine nursing;and 43 patients admitted from June 2020 to October 2021 were enrolled in observation group and were given the ESPCS nursing on the basis of the routine nursing. The scores of self-management ability, the incidence of catheter-related complications, the awareness rate of nursing knowledge, and the satisfaction of nursing work were compared between the two groups before and after the nursing. Results:After the nursing, the self-management ability score, the nursing knowledge awareness rate and the nursing job satisfaction of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, the incidence of catheter-related complications was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:On the basis of the routine nursing, the ESPCS nursing can improve the self-management ability scores, the nursing knowledge awareness rate and the nursing job satisfaction of the breast cancer patients with PICC catheterization chemotherapy, and can reduce the incidence of catheter-related complications. Moreover,it is superior to single routine nursing.
