Effects of Compound Methoxyphenamine capsules combined with Budesonide/Fomoterol powder for inhalation in treatment of elderly patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Objective:To observe effects of Compound Methoxyphenamine capsules combined with Budesonide/Fomoterol powder for inhalation in treatment of elderly patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 82 elderly patients with stable COPD admitted to this hospital from March 2022 to April 2023.They were divided into study group and control group according to the random number table method,41 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Budesonide/Fomoterol powder for inhalation,while the study group was treated with Compound Methoxyphenamine capsules on the basis of that of the control group.The total effective rate of treatment,the lung function indexes[forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),FEV1/forced vital capacity(FVC)]levels,the respiratory rate,the arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2),the arterial oxygen saturation(SaO2),and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 95.12%,which was significantly higher than 78.05%of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of FEV1,FEV1/FVC and SaO2 in the two groups were higher than those before the treatment,and those in the study group were higher than those in the control group;the levels of respiratory rate and PaCO2 were lower than those before the treatment,and those in the study group were lower than those in the control group;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Compound Methoxyphenamine capsule combined with Budesonide/Fomoterol powder for inhalation in the treatment of the elderly patients with stable COPD can improve the total effective rate,the lung function index levels and the SaO2 levels,and reduce the respiratory rate and the PaCO2 levels.Moreover,it is superior to single Budesonide/Fomoterol powder for inhalation treatment.
