Effects of Shi's three steps and nine methods of cervical manipulation combined with acupuncture at cervical Jiaji points in treatment of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy
Objective:To observe effects of Shi's three steps and nine methods of cervical manipulation combined with acupuncture at cervical Jiaji points in treatment of patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy(CSR).Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 100 CSR patients admitted to the hospital from May 2019 to May 2021.They were divided into study group and control group according to the random number table method,50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with acupuncture at cervical Jiaji points, while the study group was treated with Shi's three steps and nine methods of neck-rectification on the basis of the control group. The total effective rate, the pain visual analogue scale(VAS)score, the CSR quality of life scale score, and the serum inflammatory factors[tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α,interleukin(IL)-1β,high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)]levels were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate in the study group was 88.00%,which was significantly higher than 56.00%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the scores of each dimension of CSR quality of life scale in the study group were higher than those in the control group;the VAS score and the serum levels of TNF-α,IL-1β and hs-CRP were lower than those in the control group;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Shi's three steps and nine methods of cervical manipulation combined with acupuncture at cervical Jiaji points can improve the total effective rate and the quality of life scores of the CSR patients, and reduce the pain VAS scores and inflammatory factor levels. Moreover,it is superior to single acupuncture at cervical Jiaji points.
