Efficiency of high-resolution magnetic resonance vascular wall imaging in diagnosis of basilar artery stenosis
Objective:To analyze efficiency of high-resolution magnetic resonance vessel wall imaging(HRMR-VWI)in diagnosis of basilar artery stenosis. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 96 patients with suspected basilar artery stenosis admitted to the hospital from July 2018 to December 2020.All patients underwent CT angiography(CTA),HRMR-VWI and digital subtraction angiography(DSA)examination.Using the DSA results as the gold standard, the efficiencies of HRMR-VWI and CTA in the diagnosis of basilar artery stenosis were compared. Results:Among the 96 patients with suspected basilar artery stenosis,72 cases were diagnosed as positive and 24 cases were negative by DSA.66 cases were diagnosed as positive and 30 cases were negative by CTA.76 cases were diagnosed as positive and 20 cases were negative by HRMR-VWI.The sensitivity and the negative predictive value of HRMR-VWI in the diagnosis of basilar artery stenosis were higher than those of CTA,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The efficiency of HRMR-VWI in the diagnosis of basilar artery stenosis is higher than that of CTA.
