Comparison of effects of ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy and pneumatic lithotripsy in treatment of patients with ureteral calculi
Objective:To observe effects of ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy and pneumatic lithotripsy in treatment of patients with ureteral calculi. Methods:The clinical data of 64 patients with ureteral calculi admitted to the hospital from November 2019 to October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into study group and control group,32 cases in each group. The control group was treated with pneumatic lithotripsy, while the study group was treated with ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy. The one-time stone clearance rate, the operation time, the hospitalization time, the postoperative complications, and the levels of inflammatory indexes and renal function indexes were compared between the two groups. Results:The one-time stone clearance rate and the upper stone clearance rate in the study group were higher than those in the control group;the operation time and the hospitalization time were shorter than those of the control group;the incidence of complications after the treatment was lower than that of the control group;the serum C-reactive protein, white blood cell count, serum urea nitrogen and creatinine levels were lower than those in the control group;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Holmium laser lithotripsy for the patients with ureteral calculi can effectively improve the one-time stone clearance rate, shorten the operation time and the hospitalization time, reduce the postoperative complications, and reduce the levels of inflammatory indexes and renal function indexes. Moreover,it is superior to pneumatic lithotripsy.
