Effects of high-speed turbine combined with minimally invasive tooth extraction knife in treatment of patients with impacted wisdom teeth
Objective:To observe effects of high-speed turbine combined with minimally invasive tooth extraction knife in treatment of patients with impacted wisdom teeth. Methods:The clinical data of 126 patients with impacted wisdom teeth admitted to this hospital from May 2020 to February 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into control group and observation group,63 cases in each group. The control group was treated with chisel osteotomy, while the observation group was treated with high-speed turbine combined with minimally invasive tooth extraction knife. The levels of tooth extraction related index levels(extraction time, dental fossa injury score, mouth opening limit, cheek swelling degree),the pain[visual analogue scale(VAS)]scores at different time after tooth extraction, the gingival crevicular fluid indexes[prostaglandin E2(PGE2),5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT),interleukin-6(IL-6)]levels before and after tooth extraction, the incidence of complications, and the excellent and good rate of wound healing were compared between the two groups. Results:The extraction time of the observation group was shorter than that of the control group, the dental fossa injury score, the mouth opening limit and the cheek swelling degree were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).24,48 and 72 h after tooth extraction, the VAS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After tooth extraction, the levels of PGE2,5-HT and IL-6 in gingival crevicular fluid of the two groups were higher than those before tooth extraction, but those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was 7.94% (5/63),which was lower than 25.40% (16/63)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,the excellent and good rate of wound healing in the observation group was 93.65% (59/63),which was higher than 80.95% (51/63)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:High-speed turbine combined with minimally invasive tooth extraction knife in the treatment of the patients with impacted wisdom teeth can improve the levels of tooth extraction related indexes, reduce the pain scores, the gingival crevicular fluid index levels and the incidence of complications, and improve the excellent and good rate of wound healing. Moreover,it is superior to the chisel osteotomy.
