Objective:To observe effects of Kangfuyan capsules combined with conventional western medicine in treatment of patients with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease(CPID).Methods:The clinical data of 94 patients with CPID admitted to this hospital from April 2021 to April 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into control group and observation group,47 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional western medicine(Ciprofloxacin + Metronidazole),while the observation group was treated with Kangfuyan capsules on the basis of that of the control group.Both groups were treated for 14 d.The clinical efficacy,the Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)syndrome scores,the levels of inflammatory factors[transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1),interleukin(IL)-6,IL-10]before and after the treatment,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.74% (45/47),which was higher than 80.85% (38/47)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the scores of TCM syndromes such as lower abdominal distension and pain,more vaginal discharge,yellow and sticky vaginal discharge,and lumbosacral pain in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of TGF-β1 and IL-10 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group,the level of IL-6 was lower than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Kangfuyan capsules combined with conventional western medicine in the treatment of the CPID patients can improve the total effective rate of treatment,improve the levels of inflammatory factors,and reduce the scores of TCM syndromes.Moreover,it is superior to single conventional western medicine treatment.
