Effects of topical Tranexamic acid combined with Q-switched laser in treatment of patients with pigmentation after acne
Objective:To investigate effects of topical Tranexamic acid combined with Q-switched laser in treatment of patients with pigmentation after acne. Methods:The clinical data of 90 patients with pigmentation after acne admitted to this hospital from August 2021 to January 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into control group and study group,45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Q-switched laser, while the study group was treated with 1%Tranexamic acid solution patching on the basis of that of the control group. The clinical efficacy, the skin pigmentation before and after the treatment[melanin index(MI),erythema index(EI)],the skin physiological function indexes(skin stratum corneum water content, transepidermal water loss rate and pH value)levels, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 88.89%(40/45),which was higher than 71.11%(32/45)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the MI and EI scores and the transepidermal water loss rate of the study group were lower than those of the control group, the water content and pH value of the stratum corneum of the affected skin were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,the incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was 6.67%(3/45),which was lower than 22.22%(10/45)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Topical Tranexamic acid combined with Q-switched laser is effective in the treatment of the patients with pigmentation after acne, which can reduce the pigmentation, improve the skin physiological function and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions. Moreover,it is superior to single Q-switched laser treatment.
