Comparison of effects of drug-coated balloon and Rapamycin-eluting stent in treatment of patients with coronary small vessel disease
Objective:To observe and analyze application effects of drug-coated balloon and Rapamycin-eluting stent in treatment of patients with coronary small vessel disease. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 60 patients with coronary small vessel disease admitted to the hospital from March 2021 to February 2022.According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and study group,30 cases in each group. Both groups were received percutaneous coronary intervention. The control group was implanted with Rapamycin-eluting stents, while the study group was treated with drug-coated balloon. All patients were followed up for 1 year. The minimum lumen diameter(MLD)and diameter stenosis the before the surgery, immediately and 1 year after the surgery, the late lumen loss, and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results:Immediately after the surgery, the MLD of the two groups were higher than those before the surgery, and the diameter stenosis were lower than those before the surgery, however, there were no significant differences between the two groups(P>0.05).One year after the surgery, the MLD of the two groups were lower than those immediately after the surgery, and the diameter stenosis were higher than those immediately after the surgery;however, the MLD of the study group was greater than that of the control group, and the diameter stenosis was lower than that of the control group;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).One year after the surgery, the late lumen loss in the study group was smaller than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,the incidence of complications in the study group was 13.33%(4/30),which was lower than 36.67%(11/30)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The short-term efficacy of drug-coated balloon in the treatment of the patients with coronary small vessel disease is similar to that of Rapamycin-eluting stent, but the long-term efficacy is better. The MLD is larger and the degree of stenosis is lower 1 year after the surgery. Moreover,it can reduce the late lumen loss and reduce the incidence of complications such as stent thrombosis and restenosis.
