Correlations of self-transcendence,self-efficacy and perceived social support in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Objective:To observe correlations of self-transcendence,self-efficacy and perceived social support in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted on 120 elderly patients with COPD admitted to the hospital from October 2019 to October 2021.The scores of Chinese self-transcendence scale(CSTS),COPD self-efficacy scale(CSES)and perceived social support scale(PSSS)were statically analyzed.Pearson correlation analysis was used to test the correlations among the CSTS,CSES and PSSS scores. The causal stepwise regression method was used to test the mediating effect of CSES score between CSTS and PSSS scores. Results:The total average score of CSTS,CSES and PSSS in the 120 elderly patients with COPD was(40.52±5.16),(86.95±7.24)and(52.16±6.12)points,separately.The Pearson correlation analysis results showed that the dimension scores and total scores of PSSS of the elderly COPD patients were positively correlated with the dimension scores and total scores of CSTS(r>0,P<0.05);the dimension scores and total scores of PSSS were positively correlated with the dimension scores and total scores of CSES(r>0,P<0.05);the dimension scores and total scores of CSTS were positively correlated with the dimension scores and total scores of CSES(r>0,P<0.05).The causal stepwise regression analysis showed that CSES score had a partial mediating effect between CSTS and PSSS scores. Conclusions:The PSSS scores are positively correlated with the CSTS scores and the CSES scores in the elderly patients with COPD;and the CSTS scores are positively correlated with the CSES scores.Further, the CSES score has a partial mediating effect between the CSTS and PSSS scores.
