Application effects of only physiological saline flushing and sealing tube in three-way valve type medium-length catheter indwelling infusion
Objective:To explore application effects of only physiological saline flushing and sealing tube in three-way valve type medium-length catheter indwelling infusion. Methods:The clinical data of 160 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis who underwent intravenous indwelling catheter infusion in this hospital from March 2021 to February 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.According to the different sealing methods, they were divided into control group and observation group,80 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with three-way valve-type medium-length catheter infusion for about 7 weeks. The control group was treated with physiological saline pulse-type flushing combined with 100 U/mL heparin solution positive pressure sealing, while the observation group was only treated with physiological saline flushing. The catheter indwelling time, the hospitalization time, the single sealing cost, the average sealing time, the incidence of adverse events, and the nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results:The catheter indwelling time of the observation group was longer than that of the control group, the hospitalization time was shorter than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The single sealing cost in the observation group was less than that in the control group, the average sealing time was shorter than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the incidence of catheter blockage, bloodstream infection and phlebitis between the two groups(P>0.05).The nursing satisfaction of the observation group was 96.25%(77/80),which was higher than 81.25%(65/80)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Only Physiological normal saline sealing for the patients with three-way valve type medium-length catheter indwelling infusion can effectively prolong the catheter indwelling time, shorten the average sealing time and the hospitalization time, reduce the sealing cost, improve the nursing satisfaction, and do not increase the incidence of catheter blockage, bloodstream infection and phlebitis. Moreover,it is superior to physiological saline flushing combined with heparin solution sealing.
