Influencing factors of courtesy stigma of spouse caregivers of the elderly patients with first-episode cerebral infarction
Objective:To analyze influencing factors of courtesy stigma of spouse caregivers of the elderly patients with first-episode cerebral infarction.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted on the spouse caregivers of 259 elderly patients with cerebral infarction admitted to the hospital from August 2020 to December 2022.The courtesy stigma scores of the spouse caregivers of all elderly patients with first-episode cerebral infarction were statistically analyzed.Linear regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of the courtesy stigma of the spouse caregivers of the elderly patients with first-episode cerebral infarction.Results:The courtesy stigma scores of the spouse caregivers of all elderly patients with first-episode cerebral infarction was(29.10±5.56)points,including the perceived demeaning dimension(17.02±3.18)points and the perceived discrimination dimension(12.08±2.46)points.The courtesy stigma scores of the spouse caregivers of all elderly patients with first-episode cerebral infarction with junior high school education and below,daily care time>12 h,family per capita monthly income≤3000 yuan,poor psychological detachment,and heavy severe care burden were higher,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Multivariate linear regression analysis showed that family per capita monthly income≤3000 yuan,poor psychological detachment,and heavy care burden were all risk factors affecting the courtesy stigma of the spouse caregivers of the elderly patients with first-episode cerebral infarction(P<0.05).Conclusions:Family per capita monthly income≤3000 yuan,poor psychological detachment,and heavy care burden are the risk factors affecting the courtesy stigma of the spouse caregivers of the elderly patients with first-episode cerebral infarction.
