Objective:To observe effects of Liraglutide injection combined with Metformin in treatment of obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on obese 60 cases with type 2 diabetes mellitus admitted to the hospital from January 2020 to January 2023.According to the random number table method,they were divided into control group(n=30)and observation group(n=30).The control group was treated with Metformin,while the observation group was treated with Liraglutide on the basis of that of the control group.The levels of blood glucose indexes,obesity indexes,blood lipid indexes and insulin indexes before and after the treatment as well as the incidence of adverse reactions during the treatment were compared between the two groups.Results:After the treatment,the levels of fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The body mass index and waist circumference of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of total cholesterol,triglyceride and low density lipoprotein cholesterol in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,the level of high density lipoprotein cholesterol was higher than that in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The fasting insulin and insulin resistance index levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Liraglutide injection combined with Metformin in the treatment of the obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus can reduce the levels of blood glucose indexes,obesity indexes and insulin indexes,and improve the levels of blood lipid.Moreover,it is superior to single Metformin treatment.
