Effects of acupoint application combined with Sangbaipi decoction in treatment of patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Objective:To observe effects of acupoint application combined with Sangbaipi decoction in treatment of patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 60 patients with AECOPD admitted to this hospital from January to December 2022.They were divided into control group and study group by using the random number table method,30 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Sangbaipi decoction,while the study group was treated with acupoint application on the basis of that of the control group.The clinical efficacy,the lung function indexes[forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1),forced vital capacity(FVC)]levels and the blood gas analysis indexes[arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2),arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)]levels before and after the treatment,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 93.33%(28/30),which was higher than 73.33%(22/30)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of FVC and FEV1 in the two groups were higher than those before the treatment,those in the study group were higher than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the PaO2 levels of the two groups were higher than those before the treatment,and that in the study group was higher than that in the control group;the PaCO2 levels of the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,and that in the study group was lower than that in the control group;and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there were no obvious adverse reactions in the two groups during the treatment.Conclusions:Acupoint application combined with Sangbaipi decoction in the treatment of the AECOPD patients can improve the total effective rate of treatment and the levels of lung function indexes,and improve the levels of blood gas analysis indexes.Moreover,it is superior to single Sangbaipi decoction treatment.
