Comparison of application effects of Bioceramic root canal sealer and Calcium hydroxide paste in root canal treatment of traumatic exposed pulp teeth of anterior teeth
Objective:To compare application effects of Bioceramic root canal sealer and Calcium hydroxide paste in root canal treatment of traumatic exposed pulp teeth of anterior teeth. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 102 patients with traumatic exposed pulp teeth of anterior teeth who underwent root canal therapy in the hospital from February 2021 to December 2022.According to the random number table method, they were divided into study group and control group,51 cases in each group. In root canal therapy, the control group was treated with Calcium hydroxide paste, while the study group was treated with Bioceramic root canal sealer. The pulp preservation rate, the incidence of abnormal repair events, the pain numerical rating scale(NRS)score, the gingival index(GI)score, the sulcus bleeding index(SBI)score, the tooth mobility(TM)score, and the simplified dentin sensitivity impact scale(DHEQ-15)score were compared between the two groups. Results:The pulp preservation rate of the study group was 94.12%,which was significantly higher than 80.39%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of abnormal repair events in the study group was 3.92%,which was significantly lower than 17.65%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,at the time of re-visit,the scores of NRS,SBI,TM,GI and DHEQ-15 in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, those in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The Bioceramic root canal sealers in the root canal therapy of the traumatic exposed pulp teeth of anterior teeth can improve the pulp preservation rate of the patients, and reduce the incidence of abnormal repair events and the NRS,SBI,TM,GI,DHEQ-15 scores. Moreover,it is superior to Calcium hydroxide paste.
