Effects of Levothyroxine combined with Vitamin B12 in treatment of patients with hypothyroidism
Objective:To observe effects of Levothyroxine combined with Vitamin B12 in treatment of patients with hypothyroidism. Methods:The clinical data of 86 patients with hypothyroidism admitted to this hospital from March 2021 to March 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment options, they were divided into control group and observation group,43 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Vitamin B12,while the observation group was treated with Levothyroxine on this basis. The total effective rate of treatment, the levels of thyroid function indexes[free triiodothyronine(FT3),free thyroxine(FT4),thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH)]and disease progression related indexes[insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1),neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipid carrier protein-2(lipocalin-2),insulin-like growth factor binding protein-3(IGFBP-3)]before and after the treatment, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:After the treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of serum FT3,FT4,IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the levels of TSH and lipocalin-2 were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Levothyroxine combined with Vitamin B12 in the treatment of the patients with hypothyroidism can improve the levels of thyroid hormone indexes and disease progression related indexes. Moreover,it is superior to single Vitamin B12 treatment.
