Efficiency of combined detection of serum HE4,CA125 and CA15-3 levels in diagnosis of benign and malignant ovarian tumors
Objective:To analyze efficiency of combined detection of human epididymis protein 4(HE4),carcinoembryonic antigen 125(CA125)and carbohydrate antigen 15-3(CA15-3)in diagnosis of benign and malignant ovarian tumors. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted on 78 patients with ovarian tumors admitted to this hospital from January 2022 to June 2023.According to the results of pathological examination, they were divided into ovarian cancer group(48 cases)and ovarian benign lesion group(30 cases).Another 30 healthy women who underwent physical examination during the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of serum HE4,CA125 and CA153 were compared among the three groups and the patients with different stages of ovarian cancer. The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve was drawn to analyze the efficiencies of single and combined detection of HE4,CA125 and CA15-3 levels in the diagnosis of benign and malignant ovarian tumors. Results:The levels of HE4,CA125 and CA15-3 in the ovarian cancer group were higher than those in the ovarian benign lesion group and the control group, the level of CA125 in the ovarian benign lesion group was higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant differences in the HE4 and CA15-3 levels between the ovarian benign lesions group and the control group(P>0.05).The levels of HE4,CA125 and CA15-3 in the patients with ovarian cancer stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ were higher than those in the patients with stage Ⅰ~Ⅱ,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve of HE4,CA125 and CA15-3 levels in the diagnosis of malignant ovarian tumors were 0.731,0.695,0.636 and 0.953,respectively,and the diagnostic efficiency of combined detection was higher than that of single detection. Conclusions:The efficiency of combined detection of serum HE4,CA125 and CA15-3 levels in the diagnosis of benign and malignant ovarian tumors is higher than that of single detection of the three.
