Application effects of evidence-based nursing in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Objective:.To observe application effects of evidence-based nursing in elderly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 104 elderly patients with COPD admitted to the hospital from May 2021 to May 2022.According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group,52 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing, while the observation group was given the evidence-based nursing on the basis of that of the control group. Both groups were treated continuously for 1 month. The compliance score, the self-care ability[exercise of self-care agency scale(ESCA)]score and the quality of life[world health organization quality of life-BREF(WHOQOL-BREF)]score before and after the nursing, and the nursing satisfaction score were compared between the two groups. Results:After the nursing, the compliance scores of regular work and rest, correct training, moderate exercise and reasonable diet in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the nursing, the scores of ESCA dimensions such as self-care skills,self-care responsibility,self-concept and health knowledge level in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the nursing, the scores of WHOQOL-BREF dimensions such as physical health, mental health, social relations and environment in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,the nursing satisfaction scores of health education, nursing attitude, professional skills and communication in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The evidence-based nursing for the elderly patients with COPD can improve the compliance scores, the self-care ability scores, the quality of life scores and the nursing satisfaction. Moreover,it is superior to the routine nursing.
