Application effects of ultrasound-guided intermuscular sulcus combined with axillary brachial plexus block anesthesia in children with Monteggia fracture surgery
Objective:To observe application effects of ultrasound-guided intermuscular sulcus combined with axillary brachial plexus block anesthesia in children with Monteggia fracture surgery. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 72 children with Monteggia fracture admitted to the hospital from May 2021 to April 2023.According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group,36 cases in each group. The control group underwent ultrasound-guided intermuscular sulcus brachial plexus block anesthesia, while the observation group underwent ultrasound-guided intermuscular sulcus combined with axillary brachial plexus block anesthesia. The levels of anesthesia-related indexes, the excellent and good rate of anesthesia, the effective rate of motor block, and the incidence of adverse reactions within 24 hours after the surgery were compared between the two groups. Results:The anesthesia operation time and the anesthesia duration of the observation group were longer than those of the control group, the onset time of anesthesia block was shorter than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The excellent and good rate of anesthesia in the observation group was 94.44%(34/36),which was higher than 75.00%(27/36)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The effective rate of motor block in the observation group was 86.11%(31/36),which was higher than 55.56%(20/36)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,the incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 8.33%(3/36),which was lower than 27.78%(10/36)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Ultrasound-guided intermuscular sulcus combined with axillary brachial plexus block anesthesia in the children with Monteggia fracture surgery can shorten the onset time of anesthesia block, prolong the anesthesia duration, improve the excellent and good rate of anesthesia and the effective rate of motor block, and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions. Moreover,it is superior to simple ultrasound-guided intermuscular sulcus brachial plexus block anesthesia, but the anesthesia operation time needs to be prolonged.
