Effects of extract of ginkgo biloba leaves injection combined with Betahistine hydrochloride in treatment of patients with cerebral artery insufficiency vertigo
Objective:To observe effects of extract of ginkgo biloba leaves injection combined with Betahistine hydrochloride in treatment of patients with cerebral artery insufficiency vertigo. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 68 patients with cerebral artery insufficiency vertigo admitted to the hospital from June 2021 to December 2022.According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and study group,34 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Betahistine hydrochloride for injection, while the observation group was treated with extract of ginkgo biloba leaves injection on the basis of that of the control group. The clinical efficacy, the vertigo degree[dizziness handicap inventory(DHI)]score, the hemodynamic indexes[left vertebral artery(LVA),right vertebral artery(RVA),basilar artery(BA)blood flow velocity]levels before and after the treatment, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 88.24%(30/34),which was higher than 55.88%(19/34)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the DHI scores of body, emotion and function in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, those in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The blood flow velocities of LVA,RVA and BA in the two groups were higher than those before the treatment, those in the study group were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Extract of ginkgo biloba leaves injection combined with Betahistine hydrochloride in the treatment of the patients with cerebral artery insufficiency vertigo can improve the total effective rate of treatment and the levels of hemodynamic indexes, and reduce the DHI scores. Moreover,it is superior to single Betahistine hydrochloride treatment.
