Implant repair often has the problem of insufficient available bone height,however,the use of short implants can solve the need for bone augmentation surgery.As an alternative treatment for bone augmentation surgery,short implants have achieved good short-term results in clinical practice,but the long-term survival rate is still low,which still needs further clinical verification.This article reviewed the definition,structural characteristics,clinical application,clinical effects,and prospects of short implants.
