Effects of short-wave ultraviolet combined with Vitamin B2 in treatment of aplastic anemia complicated with oral mucositis
Objective:To investigate effects of short-wave ultraviolet combined with Vitamin B2 in treatment of patients with aplastic anemia(AA)complicated with oral mucositis.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 85 patients with AA complicated with oral mucositis admitted to this hospital from January 2021 to January 2023.According to the random number table method,they were divided into control group(42 cases)and observation group(43 cases).The control group was treated with Vitamin B2 tablets for external use,while the observation group was treated with short-wave ultraviolet irradiation on the basis of that of the control group.The clinical efficacy,the pain disappearance time and the ulcer healing time,the oral mucositis daily questionnaire(OMDQ)score,the serum inflammatory factors[transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1),interleukin-6(IL-6)and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)]levels before and after the treatment,and the adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.35%(41/43),which was higher than 76.19%(32/42)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The pain disappearance time and the ulcer healing time in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the OMDQ score and the serum levels of TGF-β1,IL-6 and hs-CRP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).During the treatment,there were no serious adverse reactions in the two groups.Conclusions:Short-wave ultraviolet combined with Vitamin B2 can improve the total effective rate of treatment in the patients with AA complicated with oral mucositis,accelerate the disappearance of pain and the ulcer healing,and reduce the levels of inflammatory factors.Moreover,it is superior to single Vitamin B2 treatment.
