Effects of Sophora gel combined with Metronidazole in treatment of patients with bacterial vaginosis
Objective:To observe effects of Sophora gel combined with Metronidazole in treatment of patients with bacterial vaginosis(BV).Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 110 patients with BV admitted to the hospital from March 2021 to March 2023.According to the random number table method,they were divided into control group and observation group,55 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Metronidazole,while the observation group was treated with Sophora gel on the basis of that of the control group.The two groups were treated for 2 weeks.The clinical efficacy,the disappearance time of clinical symptoms(abnormal leucorrhea,vulva pruritus,mucosal congestion),the vaginal pH value,the population density,the inflammatory indexes[interleukin-4(IL-4),interleukin-12(IL-12),interferon-γ(IFN-γ)]levels before and after the treatment,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 93.36%(53/55),which was higher than 83.64%(46/55)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The disappearance time of leucorrhea abnormality,vulva pruritus and mucosal congestion in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the vaginal pH value of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,the population density was better than that of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of IL-4 and IL-12 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the level of IFN-γ was higher than that in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Sophora gel combined with Metronidazole in the treatment of the BV patients can improve the total effective rate of treatment,shorten the disappearance time of clinical symptoms,reduce the vaginal pH value,and regulate the population intensity and the inflammatory index levels.Moreover,it is superior to single Metronidazole treatment.
