Effects of Qingre Qushi decoction combined with conventional western medicine in treatment of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease with damp-heat accumulation syndrome
Objective:To observe effects of Qingre Qushi decoction combined with conventional western medicine in treatment of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)complicated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)with damp-heat accumulation syndrome. Methods:The clinical data of 100 elderly patients with T2DM and NAFLD with damp-heat accumulation syndrome admitted to this hospital from April 2021 to March 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into observation group and control group,50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine, while the observation group was treated with Qingre Qushi decoction on the basis of that of the control group. The clinical efficacy, the blood glucose indexes[glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose(2hPG)]levels,the blood lipid indexes(total cholesterol, triglyceride)levels, the liver function indexes[aspartate aminotransferase(AST),γ-glutamyl transpeptidase(γ-GT),alanine aminotransferase(ALT)]levels, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 84.00%,which was significantly higher than 60.00%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the levels of blood glucose indexes such as HbA1c,fasting blood glucose and 2hPG,blood lipid indexes such as total cholesterol and triglyceride, and liver function indexes such as ALT,γ-GT and AST in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).During the treatment, there was no adverse drug reactions in the two groups. Conclusions:Qingre Qushi decoction combined with conventional western medicine can improve the total effective rate of treatment, and reduce the levels of blood glucose indexes, blood lipid indexes and liver function indexes in the elderly patients with T2DM complicated with NAFLD with damp-heat accumulation syndrome. Moreover,it is superior to single conventional western medicine treatment.
