Value of ultrasound examination of carotid plaque vulnerability in evaluation of degree of coronary artery disease
Objective:To analyze value of ultrasound examination of carotid plaque vulnerability in evaluation of degree of coronary artery disease. Methods:The clinical data of 86 patients with carotid plaque admitted to this hospital from March 2020 to March 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.Carotid ultrasonography was performed in all patients. The results of carotid ultrasound examination of different carotid plaque properties were statistically analyzed. The degree of coronary stenosis, the number of coronary artery lesions, the Gensini score, and the incidence of acute coronary syndrome in the patients with different carotid plaque properties were compared. Results:For the 86 cases with carotid artery plaque, carotid artery ultrasound examination showed that 33 cases of vulnerable plaques, accounting for 38.37%(33/86);there were 53 cases of stable plaque, accounting for 61.63%(53/86).The degree of coronary stenosis in the patients with vulnerable carotid plaque was higher than that in the patients with stable carotid plaque, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The number of coronary artery lesions in the patients with vulnerable carotid plaque was more than that in the patients with stable carotid plaque, the Gensini score was higher than that in the patients with stable carotid plaque, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,the incidence of acute coronary syndrome in the patients with vulnerable carotid plaque was 33.33%(11/33),which was higher than 7.55%(4/53)in the patients with stable carotid plaque, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Ultrasound examination of carotid plaque vulnerability has a certain value in the evaluation the degree of coronary artery disease.
