Comparison of efficiencies of magnetic resonance imaging diffusion weighted imaging and magnetic resonance imaging plain scan in diagnosis of cervical cancer
Objective:To compare efficiencies of magnetic resonance imaging diffusion weighted imaging(MRI-DWI)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)plain scan in diagnosis of cervical cancer. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 96 patients with suspected cervical cancer admitted to the first hospital of Qingfeng from July 2020 to May 2022.All patients underwent MRI plain and MRI-DWI scan after admission.Using the pathological biopsy as the gold standard, the efficiencies of MRI-DWI and MRI plain scan in the diagnosis of cervical cancer, and the diagnostic coincidence rates of the two kinds for cervical cancer with different clinical stages were compared. Results:The pathological biopsy showed that among the 96 patients with suspected cervical cancer,65 were positive, including 12 cases of phase Ⅰ,24 cases of phase Ⅱ,18 cases of phase Ⅲ,and 11 cases of phase Ⅳ;and 31 were negative. The MRI plain scan showed that 51 cases were positive and 45 cases were negative. The MRI-DWI showed that 64 cases were positive and 32 cases were negative. The sensitivity, the accuracy and the negative predictive value of MRI-DWI in the diagnosis of cervical cancer were higher than those of MRI plain scan, the rate of missed diagnosis was lower than that of MRI plain scan, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The consistency of MRI-DWI and pathological examination in the diagnosis of different clinical stages was higher than that of MRI plain scan. Conclusions:The efficiency of MRI-DWI in the diagnosis of cervical cancer is higher than that of MRI plain scan.
