Effects of Phenobarbital sodium combined with Diazepam in treatment of children with febrile convulsion
Objective:To observe effects of Phenobarbital sodium combined with Diazepam in treatment of children with febrile convulsion. Methods:The clinical data of 90 children with febrile convulsion admitted to this hospital from September 2020 to September 2021 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods, they were divided into observation group and control group,45 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Diazepam, while the observation group was treated with Phenobarbital sodium on the basis of that of the control group. The clinical efficacy, the hospitalization time, the convulsion symptom control time, the body temperature recovery time, the serum cranial nerve-related factors[central nervous system specific protein(S100β),neuron-specific enolase(NSE),brain neurotrophic factor(BDNF)]levels, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.56%,which was significantly higher than 75.56%of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The hospitalization time, the convulsion symptom control time and the body temperature recovery time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After 3 days of treatment, the levels of serum S100β,NSE and BDNF in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Phenobarbital sodium combined with Diazepam in the treatment of the children with febrile convulsion can improve the total effective rate of treatment, shorten the hospitalization time, the convulsion symptom control time and the body temperature recovery time, and reduce the levels of serum cranial nerve related factors. Moreover,it is superior to single Diazepam treatment.
