Effects of compound tea polyphenol mouthwashes combined with Vitapex paste root canal filling in treatment of children with chronic periapical periodontitis of deciduous teeth
Objective:To observe effects of compound tea polyphenol mouthwashes combined with Vitapex paste root canal filling in treatment of children with chronic periapical periodontitis of deciduous teeth.Methods:The clinical data of 74 children with chronic periapical periodontitis of deciduous teeth admitted to Children's Hospital Affiliated to Zhengzhou University from August 2022 to August 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into control group and observation group,37 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Vitapex paste root canal filling,while the observation group was treated with compound tea polyphenol mouthwashes on the basis of that of the control group.The total effective rate of treatment,the periodontal indexes[sulcus bleeding index(SBI),tooth mobility(TM),gingival index(GI)and periodontal probing depth(PD)]levels,and the pain degree[numerical rating scale(NRS)]score were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.30%(36/37),which was higher than 78.38%(29/37)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the SBI and GI scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,the TM and PD levels were smaller than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,after the treatment,the NRS scores of the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,that of the observation group was lower than that of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Compound tea polyphenol mouthwashes combined with Vitapex paste root canal filling in the treatment of the children with chronic periapical periodontitis of deciduous teeth can improve the total effective rate of treatment and reduce the levels of periodontal indexes and the pain scores.Moreover,it is superior to single Vitapex paste root canal filling treatment.
