Efficiency of combined examination of CT and MRI in diagnosis of multiple acute cerebral infarction
Objective:To analyze efficiency of combined examination of computed tomography(CT)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)in diagnosis of multiple acute cerebral infarction(ACI).Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 85 patients with suspected ACI admitted to the hospital from August 2021 to August 2023.All patients underwent CT and MRI examinations.Using the results of digital subtraction angiography(DSA)as the gold standard, the results and efficiency of single and combined examination of CT and MRI in the diagnosis of ACI were compared.Kappa test was used to analyze the consistencies of CT,MRI single and combined examination with DSA examination. Results:The gold standard showed 85 patients with suspected ACI,among them,60 cases were positive and 25 cases were negative.CT examination showed that 55 cases were positive and 30 cases were negative.MRI examination results showed that 56 cases were positive and 29 cases were negative. The combined CT and MRI showed that 59 cases were positive and 26 cases were negative. The sensitivity and the accuracy of combined examination of CT and MRI in the diagnosis of ACI were higher than those of single examination of,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Kappa test results showed that the consistency between CT examination and gold standard examination in the diagnosis of ACI was acceptable;the consistency between MRI diagnosis and gold standard examination in the diagnosis of ACI was acceptable;and the consistency between combined examination and gold standard examination in the diagnosis of ACI was good. Conclusions:The efficiency of combined CT and MRI in the diagnosis of ACI is higher than that of single examination.
