Effects of Kangfuxin liquid in treatment of patients with chronic periodontitis
Objective:To observe effects of Kangfuxin liquid in treatment of patients with chronic periodontitis.Methods:The clinical data of 72 patients with chronic periodontitis admitted to this hospital from January 2020 to August 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment options,they were divided into control group and study group,36 cases in each group.Both groups received routine treatment.On this basis,the control group was treated with Galculus bovis and Metronidazole capsules combined with Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium tablets,while the study group was treated with Kangfuxin liquid on the basis of that of the control group.The clinical efficacy,the periodontal related indexes[posterior sulcus bleeding index(SBI),plaque index(PLI),periodontal probing depth(PD)]levels,the gingival crevicular fluid inflammatory factors[interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2)]levels,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment.Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 97.22%(35/36),which was higher than 77.77%(28/36)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of SBI,PLI and PD in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,those in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of MMP-2,IL-1β,TNF-α and IL-6 in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,those in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:On the basis of conventional drugs,Kangfuxin liquid in the treatment of the chronic periodontitis patients can improve the total effective rate of treatment,reduce the levels of periodontal related indexes and the levels of inflammatory factors in the gingival crevicular fluid.Moreover,it is superior to Galculus bovis and Metronidazole capsules combined with Amoxicillin treatment.
