Effects of Xuezhikang capsules combined with Atorvastatin in treatment of patients with carotid atherosclerosis
Objective:To observe effects of Xuezhikang capsules combined with Atorvastatin in treatment of patients with carotid atherosclerosis.Methods:The clinical data of 120 patients with carotid atherosclerosis admitted to this hospital from September 2021 to March 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different treatment methods,they were divided into observation group and control group,60 cases in each group.The control group was treated with Atorvastatin calcium tablets orally,while the observation group was treated with Xuezhikang capsules on the basis of that of the control group.The clinical efficacy,the carotid intima-media thickness(IMT),the plaque area,the blood lipid[total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides(TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C)]levels,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 95.00%(57/60),which was higher than 83.33%(50/60)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the IMT and the plaque area of carotid artery in the observation group were smaller than those in the control group,the levels of TC,TG and LDL-C were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Xuezhikang capsules combined with Atorvastatin in the treatment of the patients with carotid atherosclerosis can improve the total effective rate of treatment,reduce the carotid IMT and the plaque area,and reduce the TC,TG and LDL-C levels.Moreover,it is superior to single Atorvastatin treatment.
