Effects of Carvedilol combined with Benazepril in treatment of elderly patients with hypertension complicated with heart failure
Objective:To observe effects of Carvedilol combined with Benazepril in treatment of elderly patients with hypertension complicated with heart failure. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 150 elderly patients with hypertension with heart failure admitted to the hospital from January 2018 to March 2023.According to the random number table method, they were divided into study group and control group,75 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Benazepril, while the study group was treated with Carvedilol on the basis of that of the control group. The clinical efficacy, the levels of cardiac function indexes[left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),left ventricular end-systolic diameter(LVESD),left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD)],vascular endothelial function indexes[endothelin-1(ET-1),homocysteine(Hcy)]and blood pressure before and after the treatment, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 92.00%(69/75),which was higher than 80.00%(60/75)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the LVEF levels of the two groups were higher than those before the treatment, and that in the study group was higher than that in the control group;the levels of LVESD and LVEDD in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, and those in the study group were lower than those in the control group;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of ET-1 and Hcy in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, those in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, those in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Carvedilol combined with Benazepril in the treatment of the elderly patients with hypertension with heart failure can improve the clinical efficacy, improve the levels of cardiac function indexes, and reduce the levels of vascular endothelial function indexes and blood pressure. Moreover,it is superior to single Benazepril treatment.
