Effects of Imiquimod cream combined with photodynamic therapy in treatment of patients with condyloma acuminatum of vulva
Objective:To observe effects of Imiquimod cream combined with photodynamic therapy in treatment of patients with condyloma acuminatum of vulva.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 98 patients with condyloma acuminatum of vulva admitted to the hospital from August 2021 to August 2023.According to the random number table method,they were divided into control group and study group,49 cases in each group.The control group was treated with photodynamic therapy,while the study group was treated with Imiquimod cream on the basis of that of the control group.The clinical efficacy,the levels of inflammatory factors[tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),C-reactive protein(CRP)]and serum regeneration factor indexes[vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),hypoxia-inducible factor-1α(HIF-1α)],the incidence of adverse reactions,and the recurrence rate were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment.Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 95.92%(47/49),which was higher than 83.67%(41/49)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the levels of TNF-α,CRP,IL-6,VEGF and HIF-1α in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,those in the study group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).After 3 months of follow-up,the recurrence rate of the study group was 0,which was lower than 12.20%(5/41)of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Imiquimod cream combined with photodynamic therapy in the treatment of the patients with condyloma acuminatum of vulva can improve the total effective rate of treatment and reduce the levels of inflammatory factors and serum regeneration factor indexes and the recurrence rate.Moreover,it is superior to single photodynamic therapy.
