Effects of bronchoalveolar lavage with Ambroxol hydrochloride in treatment of children with severe mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia
Objective:To observe effects of bronchoalveolar lavage with Ambroxol hydrochloride in treatment of children with severe mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(SMPP).Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 120 children with SMPP admitted to this hospital from December 2022 to December 2023.According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group,60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with bronchoalveolar lavage, while the observation group was treated with bronchoalveolar lavage with Ambroxol hydrochloride. The clinical efficacy, the inflammatory factor[procalcitonin(PCT),white blood cell count(WBC),high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(hs-CRP),interleukin-6(IL-6)]before and after the treatment, the duration of clinical symptoms, the hospitalization time, the serological index[lactate dehydrogenase(LDH)]level, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.67%(58/60),which was higher than 86.67%(52/60)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the levels of PCT,WBC,hs-CRP and IL-6 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The duration of symptoms such as fever, cough, lung rale, chest shadow and the hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the LDH level in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Bronchoalveolar lavage with Ambroxol hydrochloride in the treatment of the children with SMPP can improve the total effective rate of treatment, shorten the duration of symptoms and the hospitalization time, and reduce the levels of inflammatory factors and LDH.Moreover,it is superior to single bronchoalveolar lavage treatment.
