Effects of Calcium and zinc gluconate combined with Vitamin D in treatment of children with Vitamin D deficiency rickets
Objective:To observe effects of Calcium and zinc gluconate combined with Vitamin D in treatment of children with Vitamin D deficiency rickets. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 72 children with Vitamin D deficiency rickets admitted to Jinshui District General Hospital from April 2021 to March 2023.According to the random number table method, they were divided into observation group and control group,36 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Vitamin D,while the observation group was treated with Calcium and zinc gluconate on the basis of that of the control group. The levels of growth indicators[serum bone alkaline phosphatase(BALP),serum 25-hydroxyVitamin D3[25-(OH)D3],height]levels,the bone metabolism indicators[serum sclerostin(SOST),tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase 5b(TRAP-5b),type I collagen cross-linked carboxy-terminal peptide(CTX-I),fibroblast growth factor 23(FGF23),granulocyte colony-stimulating factor(G-CSF)]levels,and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:After 3 and 6 months of treatment, height and the levels of 25-(OH)D3,SOST,TRAP-5 b and CTX-I in the observation group were higher than those in the control group;the levels of BALP,FGF-23 and G-CSF were lower than those in the control group;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Calcium and zinc gluconate combined with Vitamin D can improve the levels of growth indexes and bone metabolism indicators in the children with Vitamin D deficiency rickets. Moreover,it is superior to single Vitamin D treatment.
