Comparison of application effects of bracketless invisible correction and self-ligating bracket correction in adult orthodontic patients
Objective:To compare application effects of bracketless invisible correction and self-ligating bracket correction in adult orthodontic patients. Methods:The clinical data of 84 adult orthodontic patients admitted to Fuzhou Gulou Meijielong dental clinic from October 2018 to October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed.According to different orthodontic correction methods, they were divided into control group and study group,42 cases in each group. The control group was treated with self-ligating bracket correction, while the study group was treated with bracketless invisible correction. The clinical efficacy, the levels of inflammatory factors[interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-1β(IL-1β)]in gingival crevicular fluid before and 1 month after correction, and the periodontal index[plaque index(PLI),sulcus bleeding index(SBI),tooth mobility(TM),gingival index(GI)]1 month and 12 months after correction were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 88.10%(37/42),which was higher than 69.05%(29/42)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After 1 month of correction, the levels of TNF-α,IL-1β and IL-6 in the two groups were lower than those before correction, those in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,after 12 months of correction, the scores of PLI,SBI,TM and GI in the two groups were lower than those after 1 month of correction, those in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The bracketless invisible correction in the adult orthodontic patients can improve the correction effects, inhibit the periodontal inflammatory response, and improve the periodontal tissue and gingival crevicular fluid status. Moreover,it is superior to self-ligating bracket correction.
