Comparison of effects of transumbilical single-port laparoscopy and traditional three-port laparoscopy in treatment of patients with uterine fibroids
Objective:To compare effects of transumbilical single-port laparoscopy and traditional three-port laparoscopy in treatment of patients with uterine fibroids. Methods:The clinical data of 79 patients with uterine fibroids admitted to this hospital from January to October 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.According to the different surgical methods, they were divided into study group(40 cases)and control group(39 cases). The control group was treated with conventional three-port laparoscopic myomectomy, while the study group was treated with transumbilical single-port laparoscopic myomectomy. The perioperative related indexes(operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative first exhaust time, first out-of-bed time, hospitalization time)levels, the postoperative pain scores, the uterine hemodynamic indexes(uterine artery pulsation index and resistance index)levels before and after the surgery, the satisfaction with incision aesthetics, and the incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Results:There were no significant differences in the intraoperative blood loss, operation time, postoperative uterine artery pulsation index, resistance index, first exhaust time, hospitalization time and incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).The first out-of-bed time in the study group was shorter than that in the control group, the VAS scores 24 h and 48 h after the surgery were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total satisfaction rate of incision aesthetics in the study group was 87.50%(35/40),which was higher than 58.97%(23/39)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Compared with conventional three-port laparoscopic surgery, transumbilical single-port laparoscopic surgery for the patients with uterine fibroids can reduce the pain, shorten the out-of-bed time after surgery, improve the aesthetics of the incision, and will not increase the amount of bleeding and the incidence of complications.Further, the operation time, the postoperative first exhaust time and the hospitalization time were comparable to those of three-port laparoscopic surgery.
