Effects of red and blue light irradiation combined with oral Doxycycline hydrochloride tablets in treatment of patients with papulopustular rosacea
Objective:To observe effects of red and blue light irradiation combined with oral Doxycycline hydrochloride tablets in treatment of patients with papulopustular rosacea.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 76 patients with papulopustular rosacea admitted to this hospital from February 2022 to July 2023.According to the random number table method,they were divided into observation group and control group,38 cases in each group.The control group was treated with oral Doxycycline hydrochloride tablets,while the observation group was treated with red and blue light irradiation on the basis of that of the control group.The clinical efficacy,the symptom(papules,pustules)scores,the inflammatory indexes[interleukin(IL)-17,IL-1β,interferon-γ(IFN-γ)]levels,and the acne-specific quality of life scale(Acne-QOL)score were compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.37%,which was significantly higher than 78.95%of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment,the Acne-QOL scores of the two groups were higher than those before the treatment,and that in the observation group was higher than that in the control group;the scores of papules and pustules symptoms and the levels of serum IL-17,IFN-γ and IL-1β in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Red and blue light irradiation combined with oral Doxycycline hydrochloride tablets in the treatment of the patients with papulopustular rosacea can improve the total effective rate of treatment and the Acne-QOL scores,and reduce the symptom scores and inflammatory index levels.Moreover,it is superior to single oral Doxycycline hydrochloride tablets treatment.
