Influencing factors of lithotripsy failure in patients with ureteral calculi treated by extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy
Objective:To analyze influencing factors of lithotripsy failure in patients with ureteral calculi treated by extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy(ESWL).Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted on 200 patients with ureteral calculi admitted to this hospital from March 2020 to February 2023.All patients were treated with ESWL.Statistical of stone fragmentation in patients ureteral calculi treated by ESWL were collected.Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of lithotripsy failure in these patients with ureteral calculi treated by ESWL.Results:Among the 200 patients with ureteral stones,43 cases(21.50%)failed,were set as failure group, and 157 cases(78.50%)were successful, were set as success group. There were no significant differences in gender, age, body mass index(BMI),combined diabetes, combined hematuria, combined hydronephrosis, affected side, and intraoperative bleeding between the two groups(P>0.05).The differences in disease course, stone diameter, stone entrapment, stone location, stone quantity, and stone composition between the failure group and the success group were statistically significant(P<0.05).The Logistic regression analysis showed that disease course, stone diameter, stone entrapment, middle ureteral stones,stones>3,and calcium oxalate stones were all risk factors for lithotripsy failure in the patients with ureteral calculi treated by ESWL(OR>1,P<0.05).Conclusions:Disease course, stone diameter, stone entrapment, middle ureteral stones,stones>3,and calcium oxalate stones are the risk factors for lithotripsy failure in the patients with ureteral calculi treated by ESWL.
