Influencing factors of recurrence after corrective surgery of intermittent exotropia in children
Objective:To observe influencing factors of recurrence after corrective surgery of intermittent exotropia in children. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted on 102 children with intermittent exotropia who underwent correction surgery in this hospital from October 2022 to October 2023.These patients were followed up for 6 months. They were divided into recurrence group and non-recurrence group according to whether they relapsed. The baseline data were compared between the two groups.Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of postoperative recurrence in the children with intermittent exotropia. Results:There were significant differences in age, course of disease, preoperative strabismus angle, postoperative eye position and preoperative visual function between the two groups(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in gender, strabismus classification, wearing glasses, surgical methods, sleep quality and exercise between the two groups(P>0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that surgical age≤6 years old, course of disease≥3 years, preoperative strabismus angle>40 PD,postoperative non-orthotopic eye position and preoperative visual function were all risk factors for recurrence after corrective surgery of intermittent exotropia in the children(OR>1,P<0.05).Conclusions:Surgical age≤6 years old, course of disease≥3 years, preoperative strabismus angle>40 PD,postoperative non-orthotopic eye position and preoperative visual function are the risk factors for recurrence after corrective surgery of intermittent exotropia in the children.
