Effects of IRoot Sp paste combined with Gutta-percha point disposable root canal filling in treatment of patients with chronic pulpitis
Objective:To observe effects of IRoot Sp paste combined with Gutta-percha point disposable root canal filling in treatment of patients with chronic pulpitis.Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 76 patients with chronic pulpitis admitted to this hospital from September 2022 to September 2023.According to the random number table method,they were divided into control group(38 cases,41 teeth)and observation group(38 cases,42 teeth).The control group was treated with Zinc oxide eugenol paste combined with gutta-percha point disposable root canal filling,while the observation group was treated with IRoot Sp paste combined with gutta-percha point disposable root canal filling.The filling effects,the pain degree[visual analogue scale(VAS)]scores before and after the treatment,the periodontal related indexes[periodontal pocket depth(PD),bleeding index(BI),gingival index(GI),plaque index(PLI)]levels,and the inflammatory factors in gingival crevicular fluid[tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-10(IL-10),prostaglandin E2(PEG2)]levels were compared between the two groups.Results:The excellent and good rate of filling in the observation group was 94.74%(36/38),which was higher than 73.68%(28/38)in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).3 and 7 days after the treatment,the VAS scores of the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The PD,PLI,BI and GI in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).Further,the levels of TNF-α,IL-10,PEG2 and IL-6 of the two groups were lower than those before the treatment,those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusions:IRoot Sp paste combined with gutta-percha point disposable root canal filling in the treatment of the patients with chronic pulpitis can improve the filling rate and reduce the pain scores,the gingival crevicular fluid inflammatory factor levels and the periodontal related index levels.Moreover,it is superior to Zinc oxide eugenol paste combined with gutta-percha point disposable root canal filling treatment.
