Application effects of neuromuscular electrical stimulation in patients with postpartum urinary incontinence
Objective:To observe application effects of neuromuscular electrical stimulation in patients with postpartum urinary incontinence. Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 100 patients with postpartum urinary incontinence admitted to the hospital from February 2021 to February 2023.They were divided into control group and observation group by using the random number table method,50 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Kegel exercise+vaginal dumbbell, while the observation group was treated with neuromuscular electrical stimulation on the basis of that of the control group. The therapeutic effect, the pelvic floor muscle strength and the urine leakage volume before and after the treatment, and the incidence of complications during the treatment were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the observation group was 96.00%(48/50),which was higher than 72.00%(36/50)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the levels of vaginal resting pressure and vaginal systolic pressure of the two groups were higher than those before the treatment, and those in the observation group were higher than those in the control group;the duration of vaginal contraction in both groups was longer than that before the treatment, and that in the observation group was longer than that in the control group;and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the urine leakage volumes of the two groups were less than those before the treatment, that of the observation group was less than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Further,the incidence of complications in the observation group was 4.00%(2/50),which was lower than 20.00%(10/50)in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:On the basis of Kegel exercise+vaginal dumbbell therapy, neuromuscular electrical stimulation can improve the total effective rate of the postpartum urinary incontinence patients, improve the pelvic floor muscle strength and reduce the urine leakage volume and reduce the incidence of complications. Moreover,it is superior to simple Kegel exercise+vaginal dumbbell treatment.
