Effects of Safflower yellow injection combined with Flunarizine hydrochloride in treatment of vertebrobasilar insufficiency vertigo
Objective:To observe effects of Safflower yellow injection combined with Flunarizine hydrochloride in treatment of patients with vertebrobasilar insufficiency vertigo(VBIV).Methods:A prospective study was conducted on 82 patients with VBIV admitted to this hospital from June 2021 to December 2023.According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group,41 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Flunarizine hydrochloride, while the study group was treated with Safflower yellow injection on the basis of that of the control group. The clinical efficacy, the TCM syndrome scores, the arterial blood flow velocity[left vertebral artery(LVA),right vertebral artery(RVA),basilar artery(BA)],the hemorheology indexes[plasma viscosity(PV),fibrinogen(FIB)]levels before and after the treatment, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 92.68%(38/41),which was higher than 75.60%(31/41)of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the scores of TCM syndromes such as vertigo, facial blinking and limb paralysis in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, those in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The blood flow velocities of LVA,RVA and BA in the two groups were faster than those before the treatment, those in the study group were faster than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of PV and FIB in the two groups were lower than those before the treatment, those in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).However,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions:Safflower yellow injection combined with Flunarizine hydrochloride in the treatment of the patients with VBIV can improve the clinical efficacy and accelerate the blood flow velocity of vertebrobasilar artery and reduce the blood viscosity. Moreover,it is superior to simple Flunarizine hydrochloride treatment.
